Snack Foods
I'm looking for some good snack foods. Something healthy, I can make a lot of it, and won't put a strain on my wallet (and still has some good flavors/tastes). It's easier for me to munch on stuff during the day then to actually try making lunch for just myself. Does anyone have any good recipes?

Hi Jackie,
When i'm home during the day I rarely eat a lunch just for myself either. Instead, I try and keep fresh fruit around for the baby and I eat some of it too. I sometimes make a cheerio mix that is cheerios, raisins, dried fruit (and sometimes M&Ms--do this at your own risk!) and that fills me up. Hard boiled eggs are an awesome snack that fill you up too. I have also discovered whole wheat tortillas--I'm a huge peanut butter person so I put a few tablespoons of that in a tortilla with a little honey, or banana, or whatever sounds good and roll it up and eat it that way. Maybe this helps? I've found that if I don't buy much junk, I won't eat it but if I buy a bag of Chex mix or something I shouldn't be having I will eat the whole darn bag!! Hope this helps!

Jackie & Briana,

You ladies sound like me, I enjoy spoonfuls of peanutbutter as well! Chop some cererly to put it on. I like the mix bag of cereal and m&m's, sweet -salt-chocolate sounds fantastic, unfortunately after a few days I'd be in big trouble :)
Are the snacks needed for you only? Instead of snacks, what about asking friends to try some samples of their teas and having a cup of that instead once an afternoon. With all of the flavors, decaf or caf, dietary benefits it might help with what your looking for.
I like left over chicken or meat from dinner the night before. If we have cooked chicken breast, I save some for Hubby''s lunch anyway, and I'll slice it w' a dab of ranch dressing. That way I get the protein to get me through the day and the carbs are so little I won't 'crash' and then later want more.
My daughter likes to grab a small bag of frozen peas and cook it with a little salt & pepper, butter for her snack or easy lunch, we split it.

Hi- I know some of the granola bars are really good out there you do have to watch some of them are pretty high in fat. My little one and I like to break-up in a bowl with some Kix or cheerios. Apple slices are her favorite and mines also. Lori

Snack foods are mainly just for me. My son is only 5 months and isn't quite there yet. :) I'll do the same thing as Briana and eat the whole bag of chex mix if I buy it pre-made, and that doesn't work well with my diet. I'll have to try the combinations that everyone has been suggesting. I figured if I could make some kind of snacky goodness, I'll be able to mix it up easier and it'll be a little cheaper than buying snack foods.

Jackie- Sometimes when I was on weight watchers that was before My little Molly I ate cereal. Ones with a little flavor just a cup or two with out milk instead of chips. I did have a few fav's Honey Comb and Frosted Mini Wheat also Capt Crunch. They killed my sweet tooth.
Just Trying to help

I don't know if you would be interested or not but I buy a thing of celery and a big bag of baby carrots. When I get them home I cut the celery to the length of the carrots and wash both then put them in two diff. containers filled with water and I have snacks for the whole week plus it is very healthy. I also love jerky.
