Well I am not sure of what you think of this but tell him you have to clip them so you can paint them, do a clear coat or something like that. I used to have to that with a boy I nannied for! |

When my son was a baby I used an emory board because I was so afraid I would cut his fingers. Since about two+ months, I have used baby nail clippers. He has always been fairly happy, but a little squiggly. He seems to become more reassured if I am at ease, smiling or getting him to laugh has made almost all things possible. You have probably already tried this, but keep trying. |

My son is 20 months and I have to act like it's a "game". Doing the whole, UUUhhhhh, Wow!! Look at this, your nails are so long!! It usually last atleast through 7 fingers or so, but I figure it is better than having to practically sit on him to get it done. My daughter, on the other hand, is only 3 months old and she is a breeze, as most of you have figured! |

I have the same problem with my son. I don't know about your son but mine is a daddys boy. So I started to cut my hubby's nails in front of my son and my hubby really over reacts like he likes it. Then I cut my sons nails and my husband stays for support. After a month my son was fine with cutting his nails. Every so often I cut a nail a little to short ( they are so small and hard to see) my sons crys for a couple seconds and then it is over. Good Luck, I hope you find something that works for your son. |

My son hates his finger nails cut the only way I can get through it is the have my husband hold him down or if his favorite tv show is on that will distract him long enough to get them done. His toe nails are another problem, like his father he has extremely ticklish feet and I can never get all his toe nails at once. |

oh honey, clipping emmys nails is a million dollar manacure. she throws a fit. i have not had to hold her down but it does take the act of congress to get it done. adam usually helps me by entertaining her. try to get someone to play this little piggy or pat a cake. |
