y is it so hard to find friends

Thats what I want to know to. We moved in Nov and I've only found a couple of people that want to get together.

I've been wondering the same things since we moved in February. We are celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary soon and since its been hard to meet people that want to hang out, we don't have anyone to watch our 7 year old daughter for a couple of hours so we can celebrate. I hate moving to a new place and not knowing anyone. It's so hard.

It is hard. To me it almost feels like asking someone out on a date, "should I call her to see if she wants to do coffee sometime", "it seemed like we clicked but maybe she was just being nice", "what will we talk about"... For me at least, there is a lot of anxiety entailed. It seems you really have to take the initiative and take a chance and "make the first move" or nothing happens. So next time you feel some inkling of a connection with another person see if they want to go for coffee, exchange numbers and be the one to take charge and make the phone call. It's really hard but it seems to be the only way.

I understand about not having someone to babysit. We have a 2 yr old and a 2 month old and our last date night was on our anniversary last Dec(I was about 5wks pregnant). It gets a little frusterating not being able to go out. I'm think about trying again to see if I can find someone to watch our girls.

Because we don't go out sociallizing or are in socializing situations anymore to meet people to be friends with. Being a sahm makes us more issolated (SP).

try meetup.com and see if you can find a mommy and me group in your area so you can get out and meet other. Or start your own.

I'm in St. Louis, MO any of you near there?
