I am reading -- "Handle With Care" By; Jodi Picoult
Here is the summary of what it is about ---
Every expectant parent will tell you that they don't want a perfect baby, just a healthy one. Charolette and Sean O'Keefe would have asked for a healthy baby, too, if they'd been given the choice. Instead, their lives are consumed by sleepless nights, mounting bills, they pitying stares of "luckier" parents, and maybe worst of all, the what - ifs. What if thier child had been born healthy? But it's all worth it because Willow is, well, funny as it seems, perfect. She's smart as a whip, on her way to being as pretty as her mother, kind, brave, and for a five-year-old an unexpectedly deep source of wisdom. Willow us Willow, in sickness and in health.
Everything changes. though, after a series of events forces Charolette and her husband to confront the most serious what-ifs of all. What if Charolette should have known earlier of Willow's illness? What if things could have been different? What if thier beloved Willow had never been born? To do Willow justice, Charolette must ask herself these questions and one more. What constitutes a valuable life?
Happy reading!!!!
Thank you,

Happy reading!

Anya, let me know how those Shana Abe books are. I have seen them at the library and at the bookstore and they seem interesting. I want to try one but I have so many other things to read. If you think they are good then that might give me a push to try them. |

I am almost done with the second one and they are pretty good... They are set back in older times and they are pretty neat. I like the second one better than the first but they are both good |

There hasn't been that much naughtiness yet (just finished the 7th book in the series), at not nearly as much as I've been given to expect given her reputation. It hasn't been bad. And I TOTALLY love Anita Blake and want to be as kick-a$$ as she is when I grow up LOL (especially funny since that character is younger than I am, at least at this point in the series). I've seriously started working out though, in an effort to have more of an Anita Blake figure. We are the same height, so I figure why not? LOL How lame am I?????? |

I am just about finished with Stalking Ivory, book 2 in the Jade del Cameron historical mystery series. I am really enjoying this series! If you are fan of historical fiction then you should give these a try. Here is the synopsis from Barnes and Noble if anyone is interested:
"On a photography assignment in the northern territory of Mount Marsabit, Jade and her friends Beverly and Avery Dunbury hope to capture on film the area's colossal elephants. Instead they discover the mutilated remains of four elephants and one man. The authorities suspect Abyssinian poachers and raiders in search of ivory and slaves. But Jade has her own suspicions, which are only heightened when she discovers a cache of German rifles hidden in a nearby cave. And when Jelani, the Kikuyu boy accompanying her, is captured by slave traders, Jade must join forces with handsome American pilot Sam Featherstone to rescue one of her own. " |

I just finished Back to the Bedroom by Janet Evanovich and I thought that was cute. It is definitely fluff reading but it was fast and enjoyable and will probably read more of her romances.
Now I am reading My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I am about 140 pages in and it is really good. A little depressing but good but I was prepared for it to be that way. |

I just started this book today. Only about 40 pages in but it grabs you from the get go.
The 19th Wife
Sweeping and lyrical, spellbinding and unforgettable, David Ebershoff’s The 19th Wife combines epic historical fiction with a modern murder mystery to create a brilliant novel of literary suspense.
It is 1875, and Ann Eliza Young has recently separated from her powerful husband, Brigham Young, prophet and leader of the Mormon Church. Expelled and an outcast, Ann Eliza embarks on a crusade to end polygamy in the United States. A rich account of a family’s polygamous history is revealed, including how a young woman became a plural wife.
Soon after Ann Eliza’s story begins, a second exquisite narrative unfolds–a tale of murder involving a polygamist family in present-day Utah. Jordan Scott, a young man who was thrown out of his fundamentalist sect years earlier, must reenter the world that cast him aside in order to discover the truth behind his father’s death.
And as Ann Eliza’s narrative intertwines with that of Jordan’s search, readers are pulled deeper into the mysteries of love and faith. |
