Ok, Mommies of God! We are different from the rest of the world... So I wanna know, what is your best parenting adivce, theory, etc? I have had the blessing to be taught by a great pastor about parenting before we moved from CA to MI and I have constantly review my notes. Basically I learned God's plan for the family, Gen 2. We messed it up Gen 3. He started over with Abraham (Thank God) and since marriage and family is His first institution He created, its pretty darn important. I know that the intimacy between my husband and I sets the entire tone for the family. We need to generationally transfer our wisdom, wealth, and heart for Gods to our children... and that will produce kids to go out and subdue the earth. To leave our home knowing their value in God so they don't try to find their value in the world by skill or performance or materialistic things and so on... So everything we do in our home focuses on my hubbys and I's intimacy :) Which isn't a bad focus! And ofcourse building our relationship with Jesus.
There are a lot of books, and talk shows, that may be "wise" teachings, but not always "holy" if you know what I'm saying... so I just wanted to know... Whats the best advice you ever received? |

The best advice I have ever got was that you can spoil a child with love and your time. You can with stuff like toys, video games and other un important stuff. We got into the habit of giving more stuff then time and now we are in the long process of clean out our homes and life. One big step we took was canceling our dish and only watching movies once or twice a week. I thought it would be hard to not watch TV throught out the day but now I just turn on my christian radio. I'm a much happier mom and I've lost weight. We are also saving a lot of money. I think everyone should try it for atleast a month. |

When reading my post above I realized that I put " you can spoil a child with love and your time" What I wanted to write was that you can not spoil a child with love and you time. I most have sounded like some kind of evil mother. Maybe I should proof read better. |

Our children watch us better than we think they do. They copy and repeat what they see us do or not do. So let them see us loving our husbands and showing affection. Let them see and hear us telling them and our husbands how much we love and appriciate them. It will come back to us 10 fold.
