Hello, I am new to the area and am looking for other moms for socializing and networking.

 I am currently unemployed, but seeking employment. The problem I keep running into is childcare. I can't seem to find an affordable, trustworthy place to leave my 9 month old son in the evenings.

Also, until I find that elusive job, I'm about to pull my hair out staying in the house all day and night. I don't know the area very well, and the big city kind of, well, intimidates me. Are there any local playgroups? or moms groups where you can bring your children?
