Hello, my name is Kathryn

Hi there.  I'm Kathryn and I thought this looked like a good site to join.  My little one is a handful...standing up and cruising to cutting her first tooth right now.  Whew.  She is 8 months old and has the attitude of a 2 year old.  LOL.

question: there are cords that are impossible for me to move.  She loves them.  I am trying to teach her "no", but she gravitates toward them.  Any helpful hints?  They are to the cable box so we can't cover that area.

Thanks.

Hi Kathryn, my name is Sandy and I have a 16 month old daughter. I had the same exact problem. What I ended up doing was taking out the matt that was in her play yard and put it against the wall to cover the cords. She was no longer using the play yard, so I figured that one day the matt would come in handy for something. I had the same problem with electrical sockets too. She figured out how to pull out the covers, so I had to rearrange the furniture in order to hide the sockets. Not sure if any of this helps. Good luck and welcome to the site :)

We figured out a temporary solution for my little smarty pants..LOL.  A relative gave us a large tunnel that plays music when you go through it.  I didn't want to cover the cords since that would make our remote usless. (They are all in the shelf with the dvr box.) We put the tunnel with its mesh wall in front of the tv stand.  Now, not only does it keep her away from the cords, but it prevents her from watching the tv too close and messing up her eyes.  At least it works for now.  :-)
