I wouldn't go by what his daycare says, if you are really worried about his speech you need to take him to his dr and get him tested.  Most drs will say not to worry about it until they are 3, but sweety my son is 21months and he doesn't put words together the most words he puts together is 'hush! dog dog' and it sounds more like 'aoush! dog dog' and thats it.  But really I would NOT be worried at this point

I wouldn't listen to what the daycare says.  Talk to your pediatrician.  Mine said that by 2 they should only be putting 2-3 words together.  There is too many other things to worry about as a parent, don't let your daycare get you upset about this.

talk to your pediactrician. often times, if a child has delays like speech, free or low cost services can be provided by the state. contact the dr. first, then if necessary, contact your local social services department, or ask the dr. about programs for the child. you and the dr. know best, so i would hesitate a bit on listening to what the daycare says. it's just another opinion and EVERYONE has one, most of them don't mean a darn thing! :) best of luck!

My son just turned two, and he doesn't put many words together, either. Every child has their own 'normal.' I wouldn't worry too much about it.
