Ice cream?

My mom is so fixed on giving my 8 1/2 month old daughter ice cream. Is it too early to give ice cream? I'm also a little nervous about giving her any dairy period due to my husband having so many allergies when he was young. She hasn't had any problems yet but I was even putting off giving her yogurt or cheese until at least 10 months.

My doc suggested 1 year for ANY dairy because to can be hard on their stomachs.

Amy, I think it is a good idea to hold off since your hubby has lots of allergies. My daughter probably had her first taste of ice cream around 6 months, but my husband and I have no allergies. Stick to your guns. Your mom will understand!
