Whining/Crying
My son, who will be 6 in Aug, has been whining. No not whining but crying at everything. We will get on to him and he starts crying and it makes me loose track of why I was getting on to him. I just want to wrap my arms around him and give him a hug and tell him that everything will be alright. Of course that is not what I always do. But it makes it hard to get on to him. Or he will start to cry when he is the center of attention. Is anyone elses son this emotional? Is this normal?

My middle son is very emotional. He turned 4 in May. He breaks down so much for nothing sometimes. Some of the time, it is because a lack of sleep, but for the most part, he is just different. I used to get frustrated and upset with him, but I learned to just hug him and calm him down, even if I am getting on him about something. I just explain to him that I love him, but you are not being nice right now. He still has to do his time out or whatever, but he knows why and he is calm and he knows that I am calm too. It may take a while, but eventually, you will see a difference. It's amazing how children can be so different! Hang in there!
