Candice I did a June Bug theme for my girls ... ladybugs, butterflies and little flowers .. for their cake (I am cake dec.) I did a dirt cake with 2 silk gerber daisies sticking out ... I put the cake in a flower pot and with 3D paint wrote "Happy 1st Birthday Rhiannon & Carys" on the front (the dirt cake was layers of choc. cake, choc. pudding, whipped cream, choc. chips, graham cracker crumbs and on the top crumbled oreo cookie pie crust, I also made little ladybugs and put those onto of the dirt)
for the girls they had a little gold cupcake with the top in whipped cream decorated as ladybugs
you could do the same but instead of a flower pot you could do a troth ... it's a lot of fun and a conversation piece ... also I had NOTHING left over ... you can do them with any flavor (in my fridge now I have a MUD cake, all the same as above but with brownies and not cake, last week I did it with white cake and raspberries and van. pudding YUM!!!)
if you want to see pictures I would be more than happy to share them ... just send me a message with your e-mail
GOOD LUCK and I can not wait to hear all about his b-day |

Candice, my daughters first is September 9th and we will ultimately be leaving on that day to go down to Florida to see disney world and her grandpa. However, the day before we will be doing an elmo theme. There wont be to much of decorating minus some balloons and an elmo cake, but we do have some good ideas for party gifts. We will be at a city park with a jungle gym area, basketball courts, and hiking trails. I am going to have a time capsule where I am asking everybody who is coming to bring a little picture or a note/poem, little things they remember from her first year, something to put in it and then save it for her until she is 18. I am also puttin together a birthday photo book. I am going to get pictures of her with everybody and have them write down a little note to her and their coinciding pictures will go next to them. I will also be having goodie bags for th eolder kids as I have nieces and nephews who are much older. Anyway I hope you have a blast at your sons birthday party. |

Hi There. For my daughter's first birthday party in June, we did a sesame street theme. Bert and Ernie came all the way from sesame street. We rented costumes online and had relatives act the part. It was a big hit and highy recommended! |

HI. I would really appreciate any ideas on throwing my son's first birthday party. He was born on January 19th and of course it is in the middle of winter. My house is not big enough for a party, but I want to make sure that he has a very special day (though he is not going to remember it). I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out where to go. I do know it has to be some kind of sesame street theme. I appreciate any ideas. |

Hi Everyone,
I started out doing the barnyard theme and everything I wanted was so expensive I just went with Elmo. I thought when he knows a little more about what's going on, when he is two maybe, I will do the barnyard theme. He loves animals his favorites are horses and cows so the barnyard theme will be perfect for next year. I got all of my stuff at Target but then later saw all the same stuff at Walmart. Elmo stuff is pretty easy to find. He enjoyed it, it was in FEB and he says "Elmo so cute" We have even got a few Elmo books since then. |

Kendall I am not sure if you have one near you, but both my brother and sister-in-laws did their children's birthday's at chucky cheese, and you can decorate any way you like. Plus their pizza is delicious. |

We did the time capsule also. I got a pringle's potatoe chip can, decorated the outside with sesame street paper, and put pens and paper on each table asking guest to write my daughter a litte message about the day, her personality, their first memories of her, etc. We are going to give it to her for her sweet 16 party....
As for games, since our theme was sesame street...not only did Bert and Ernie come and play games with the kids, but we also played pin the nose on Elmo. Another fun game is to draw and cut out a big picture of Cookie monster leaving a big hole for his mouth. Get bean bags and paint littll black circles on them to make them look like cookies and have a cookie toss into cookie monster's mouth. I am sure with the barnyard theme, you could do something with different animals.
Whatever you do have fun and take lots of pictures! |
