Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself
I have two kids a 14yr old daughter and a 3 yr old son with SPD. First I want to thank Vero for all she does to help other parents and get them connected with others. Kye is mostly over-responsive. Are big focus is eating issues, touch and teaching him how to take a break before he hits a meltdown.
I am so excited he actually picked a pair of new shoes and has been wearing them since we bought them. This is a major accomplishment for Kye (his last pair of new shoes sat on the floor even with the help of his OT it took about a month before he would wear them). I share this because most peolpe just look at me like I am crazy as I have tears in my eyes that my son is wearing a new pair of shoes!

Yeah Shoes! I know how you feel. My son thinks crocs are acceptable, so I let him wear them for all occasions. I remember how excited I got last year when he picked that style out and actually liked wearing them. If you have ideas about eating issues please let us know. I have that problem too and have had to start over 3 times. I start with mush and progress through baby food and get him to eat some table food then he gets sick and won't eat. He is kind of eating now, that is if I feed him. Our OT says to get him to feed himself, but it is hard enough to just get him to eat with me feeding him.
