BM Question
Hello!! I am a nanny and I have a BM question... Is is normal to have a green BM for a 3 almost 4 y/o? Im not sure if its from something she ate or if shes sick or if its normal. Thanks!

Yes it most likely is normal. It could be from something that she ate or even something that she drank, such as grape koolaid. I doubt that she is sick just becuase she is having a green stool.

wow i was wondering the same thing. my daughter had green stool yesterday and for the life of me i cant think of anything she ate thats green cause she doesnt eat green food. i will ask my pediatician one day when i am there. i did read in a book somewhere that it could mean an iron deficiency but i am a paranoid mom so who knows.

Katie,
I was always told that a green stool means that something wasn't digested right. I wouldn't be too concerned about it, but if it continues I would call the doctor.

Some Kool-Aid and juice flavors can cause this. Besides that, I'm not sure. My Mayo clinic book says it's not an issue though.
