Hello!! I am a nanny and I have a BM question... Is is normal to have a green BM for a 3 almost 4 y/o? Im not sure if its from something she ate or if shes sick or if its normal. Thanks! |

Yes it most likely is normal. It could be from something that she ate or even something that she drank, such as grape koolaid. I doubt that she is sick just becuase she is having a green stool. |

wow i was wondering the same thing. my daughter had green stool yesterday and for the life of me i cant think of anything she ate thats green cause she doesnt eat green food. i will ask my pediatician one day when i am there. i did read in a book somewhere that it could mean an iron deficiency but i am a paranoid mom so who knows. |

Katie, I was always told that a green stool means that something wasn't digested right. I wouldn't be too concerned about it, but if it continues I would call the doctor. |

Some Kool-Aid and juice flavors can cause this. Besides that, I'm not sure. My Mayo clinic book says it's not an issue though. |
