I have a 22 month old boy who has a hard time going down for a nap.  I have been consistent with his schedule, but he fights nap time in a big way.  Lately, I just put him in his crib and let him cry.  After about 15-20 minutes, he's still crying so I pick him up and rock him in the glider chair.  He's asleep in 2 minutes.  Are there any other, perhaps more successful ways to get him to nap?

what about at night, does he go to sleep at night without you rocking him?  Does he wake at night and do you comfort him?

My son is almost 19months and fights nap time pretty much everyday even when I KNOW he is tired but I just go in there and tell him it is NOT play time and make him lay down(Not once do I pick him up) and tell him to close his eyes and normally if I just stand next to the door he will go to sleep, and I only have to tell him once to laydown and close his eyes.

Some kids just don't respond to the CIO method so I'm not sure my son up until now did fine...but he takes after me and doesn't ever want to go to sleep cause he sometimes fights bedtime also now.
