I want to Work!
Any suggestions on what would be a good part time job or does anyone know of a good work from home job? I just dont trust the website that claim you can work from home. I need to get out a little. Just doing gymboree is not exactly fun for me, just the baby.

Hey Maryanne!
After we had our daughter, Sonora, I decided to stay at home and raise her, even though I really needed to start working again because I didn't want our family to feel the burden of my monthly student loan bills I have from college. . . I had to find something if I was going to do both! I decided to start looking for an online job. I don’t know how many data entry and medical transcription jobs I looked into, but couldn't find anything that was actually do-able, legit and going to MAKE us money, or even benefit my family, until I found this phenomenal company! I don't have to stock inventory, sell products, or give any parties! It' s 100% risk free (why I tried it out) and the best part is that you will finally be working for a company that cares about your and your family! I can't begin to tell you how much I love this company and all that it's done for our family!

If you're interested, you can get some info from me here: www.workathomeunited.com/rochellewells

P.S. I really like the fact that I can use my brain for something other than "mommy" stuff!

I use my business to have fun & socialize with women b/c there is only so much baby talk one can take in a day & maintain her sanity!!! I sell jewelry (do home parties). If you're interested in hearing about it, email me LBright81@gmail.com ... if not, that's ok too!!! Good luck with your search.

Run for a local political office. You will have all of the mental stimulation you can dream of and receive a paycheck for part time work.

I understand your frustration, I have it too!! But we have to remember that once we started having babies, our lives were no longer our own. You may disagree, but your kiddos wouldn't. I'm on the same boat you are in, I now loathe Dora CandyLand and when my daughter asks, "can we play again, Mommy?", I smile at her and say "of course!", but inside I'm screaming UGHHHH. I often feel the lonliness of being a stay-at-home mom but I often tell myself (100+ a day) is that this time will pass. My daughter will not be a toddler forever. I don't want to miss a moment of it, no matter how frustrated I can get.
About a home job, a relative wanted to stay home and earn extra money so she became a medical transcriptionist. She works 3 hours a day and says she earns about $800 dollars a month. But you can work up to 40 hours a week if you'd like. The company she works for also has sick time, paid time off and medical benefits for full time employees. I looked into it myself and found a good online school that seemed pretty reasonable. However my way of earning extra money was just by taking in some babysitting. I'm earning an extra $1500 a month by brining in two kids.
I hope this helps. Hang in there and just know that there will be some really crappy days, but then there will be some really good ones that will provide memories that will last forever.

thanks nikki. i just feel that baby talk and being stuck home a lot that i am losing working skills that i may need later on. my husband is 18 years older than me and i am 37 and not in the best of health. so i just want to maintain some skill level just in case i have to hurry back to work and i feel my brain has turned to cream cheese. not that i dont love my daughter to death and enjoy our time together, its that i am up several times a night to put in her binki that fell out of her mouth because she is too sleepy to get it and then from 6 am until about 8:30 just entertaining the baby and no one is entertaining me or talking to me. so i am all alone and feel that i am becoming stupid. i was a legal secretary my whole life and there iare days when i dont know where the typing key is and i have to look down. i never thought typing would fade away but it is. do you know i dont even know what an IPOD is uded for???

Maryanne,

Perhaps I'm incorrect here, but I 'm venturing that your frustrations are more social than just financial.
You obviously are quite intelligent so I'm sure whatever is in your future you will be able to deal with it.
If you are still concerned about your heusband make sure he has an updated life insurance policy to provide for the two of you.
I would suggest that you seek companionship in "Mommy & me" or "Mops" type groups, found at local libraries and churches. This is a networking system of other ladies such as yourself that will help you now and in the future. Who knows, perhaps someone you meet there would be in the position to offer you parttime work for their business or spouse and would understand your position. I know of ladies that went to the library with their toddler and ended up working there parttime later on. This would also help maintain your skills and put them to use when volunteering for activities. Many find additional income by just being 'out there' like child care or office work or cleaning the church....
Over the years I have been a SAHM our lives have changed, I have attended college classes, volunteered for a variety of things and worked outside the home all the while homeschooling our two children. I have made a lot of good and bad decisions, the only thing I will ever regret was 'being miserable' and unappreciative of the time they were little. I spent so much time thinking of 'all I could be doing out inthe world or having' that I lost out on the best oppourtunity I was given, and it was only for a very few years of our life.
I did learn that by volunteering for different organizations around the area we were able to enjoy many fun activities for free and found many parttime jobs on the side.
Like I said, you smart and I'm sure you will do just fine.

What are these "Wellness" companies? I don't want to request more info for something that is going to require me to invest a lot of money and work 8 hours a day from home. If anyone can explain this to me, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
