One month old and amazed

My Daughter is almost a month and 7 days old and shes just amazing me every day. When she was born she was placed on my chest and she just lifted up her head and looked around the room witch stunned me cause i thought newborns didn't have that much neck control...... but ever since she was born i did not have to hold her head shes got grate control.  Even her doctor said that the 21 years shes been working with babies shes never seen a new born hold her own head and have control of it. Then when she was about 2 weeks I was just playing with her and had her stand on my tummy and  i got surprised yet again she was able to support her own weight all i had to do was make a barrier so she doesn't fall...... and then she started to make walking motions like putting one foot in front of the other.  I could not believe that my 2 week old baby as walking up my chest and ill i was doing was supporting her so she didn't fall.  My mother and father were so sceptical until she did it to my father.  My mother is still saying a one month old cant walk but that's not what I'm saying i know she cant walk but shes making the motions she dose the same with crawling she just doesn't get the shes got to use both legs and arms at the same time, she'll try to use her legs to push up on my chest, or her arms to pull herself up  and she will grab onto my shirt and pull herself up a little bit. And shes so alert if she sees something moving she will follow it with her eyes until its out of sight.  I know i sound like a bragging mom but I'm just astound by what she can do at such an earl age.  Did anyone Else's babies do any of thees things at such an early age?

That does sound truly amazing. My baby was considered very strong too, holding her head up early... but not the day she was born. Keep your eye on her she may be "gifted". You may want to talk to your doctors about what to look for and how you can be supportive of her possible giftedness. I can't imagine what she is going to be doing in a few months. Keep us posted.

my son got all 16 of his teeth by 11months and was sitting up on his own by 3 1/2months, standing holding on to the sofas by 6months, crawling by 7 1/2months and walking at 9 or 10months...talking on the other hand is a whole other story, he at 18months won't say Mama(he has said it but he won't say it anymore)

Mine did, but I was aware of it because I watched all shows related to the babies in the womb, infant and toddlers.  What you experienced with your child was normal. it is called the "Walking reflex" and all newborns have it.  If you put her inthe bathtub she will "walk" actually moving her legs as she is walking.  I recommend if you have a DVR or Tivo to programmed to record the show on DHC "The baby Human" and also "In the womb".  If not then buy the DVD's The Baby Humas Series 1 and Series 2.  They sell them in Amazon for almos $35 http://www.amazon.ca/The-Baby-Human-Vol-2/dp/B001NP8WXI/ref=pd_bxgy_d_text_b/187-7397946-4379630

They show you how your baby can do the followings since the day they are born. "To feel; To walk; To related; To belong; To talk; To think"  To give you a hint they explain how babies can be so receptive to talk in differents languages, to relate to other babies and adults, to express themself with their surroundings, to have the walking reflex, to be aware of how deep they could fall and have a way to avoid it, to problem solve, etc and all that since the day they are born.

You will be amazed of what researchers from the most prestigios universities and Drs. have found an infant and toddler can do.
