If want something cheap and easy I would recommend going to www.ask.com and type in American Sign Language for children and you can find simple signs to print off. Practice every day with them; you and your children will learn the fastest that way. I would also recommend doing a little reading on the history of Sign Language. It will help you understand a little more about how to sign. I would recommend checking out the information on the Gallaudet University website. It's a university that is for deaf or hard of hearing individuals. Gallaudet is the only University in the United States whose student population is only deaf or hard of hearing individuals. They only accept a small percentage of hearing people into that University.

I have found ASL university very helpful. The online Dictionary is one of the best I have found. http://www.lifeprint.com/
