Hi Has anyone experience a problem with baby's ingrown toe nails? My 4 month old has had a swollen toe for several days already, I think this might be the reason he's been fussy and not wanting to eat.
Please share any experiences/suggestions.
Thanks, Elisa |

Hi Elisa, You may want to take him to the dr and have it checked. If it feels warm to the touch it can be infected. I try not to cut Emilie's toe nails too short for fear of this. I have to trim them more often but she hasn't had any problems. |

| I would call your pedi and see what they say. Let us know how your little one is. |

| My 21 month old has one and has had it for quite some time. I agree with the others - check with your pedi - they can tell you for sure and let you know what to do with it. In our case, his wasn't cutting into the flesh or infected - although red and slightly swollen. They suggested we try letting it grow out instead of clipping that nail. We did - and it just keeps coming back and that nail is oddly shaped so we just try to ignore his big toe and file that one instead of clipping it. My son never did get fussy or stop eating because of his toe though so I would suggest again, talk with your pedi - they can tell for sure. |
