The Tanana Valley Farmer's Market showcases a wide variety of "Alaskan Grown" produce and plants and "Made in Alaska" and "Silver Hand" arts and crafts - all programs that ensure excellence and guaranteed Alaskan products. Our market is the oldest established farmer's market in Alaska and the only one located in its own permanent building. We currently have over 160 members.

Vendors provide an abundant variety of vegetables and flowers. Included are bedding plants, trees, shrubs, flower baskets, the freshest produce and herbs.

They also offer specialty baked goods, wild berry jams and jellies, meats and sausage, native handicrafts, jewelry, pottery, artwork, baskets, custom-made apparel, wildflower honey, flower bouquets and much more.Fresh cooked foods, ice cream, sugar corn, fresh made sandwiches and a wonderful variety of ethnic specialties are some of the great foods available for your eating pleasure!

The diversity of products grown in Interior Alaska, also known as Alaska’s Heartland, surprises many out-of-town guests. Crops thrive in our continual growing season. The long hours of daylight (from April to September) encourage bumper harvests. Everything from potatoes and peas to pumpkins and poinsettias grow here. Greenhouses are used to extend the season for warm-weather crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers and herbs.

Alaskan agriculture is much more than rhubarb and zucchini … It’s asparagus, beans, beef, beets, blueberries, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, dairy products, flowers, grains, herbs, hay, kohlrabi, leeks, lettuce, mushrooms, onions, peas, pork, spinach, squash, strawberries …. and much more! It’s good food that’s good eating. For flavor that’s “thousands of miles fresher,” shop for local produce at the Tanana Valley Farmers Market.

Alaska’s growing economy depends on development of diverse interests to stay healthy. The Alaska Grown and the Made in Alaska programs are vital to encourage local economic self-determination. The Tanana Valley Farmers Market Association, a non-profit corporation, is empowered by its articles of incorporation to provide a sales outlet for these entrepreneurs.

Checked out the local Farmer's Market yesterday.  Veggies are still a couple weeks out but it is in full swing with the local crafts they sell, including plants and a wonderful variety of foods.  Hope yall will check it out.  It is a great place to take the kids and it is only a hop and a skip to Creamer's Field.

Yet another great place to hang with the kids.  I drove pass on my way to the Market and saw tons of birds in the fields just waiting to be gawked at.  The also have a small trail system in the back and a wonderful visitor's center.  CHECK IT OUT PARENTS!!
