Thank you to those who responded to our student questionnaire. Although we're still collecting data, the preliminary results about how you select a pediatrician have been interesting.
For example, our group thought that having a TV in each of the patient rooms would be something parents might like. We were wrong. Most moms don't or didn't care at all.
Also, #1 on your list for selecting a pediatrician was that your pediatrician was an option on your health insurance plan. Following that in order of importance, was hospital affiliation and convenient location.
Another thing that I thought was interesting was how many times a year parents visit their pediatricians office. So far we've found that 59% of the respondents visit their pediatrician some 3-8 times per year. That's a lot of trips to the doctors.
