How do you select a pediatrician?

Thank you to those who responded to our student questionnaire.  Although we're still collecting data, the preliminary results about how you select a pediatrician have been interesting.

For example, our group thought that having a TV in each of the patient rooms would be something parents might like.  We were wrong.  Most moms don't or didn't care at all.

Also, #1 on your list for selecting a pediatrician was that your pediatrician was an option on your health insurance plan.  Following that in order of importance, was hospital affiliation and convenient location.

Another thing that I thought was interesting was how many times a year parents visit their pediatricians office.   So far we've found that 59% of the respondents visit their pediatrician some 3-8 times per year.  That's a lot of trips to the doctors.

For those of you who haven't, I posted a questionnaire a few days ago regarding how you select a pediatrician.   Here's the link again in case you would like to share your input.
