What did I buy this toddler bed for again?

I have a 16 mos. old daughter who has outgrown her crib about for monthes ago.  I bought her a toddler bed but she will not lay down and go to sleep in it.  So she has been sleeping in her playpen.  Now she is jumping out of it in the middle of the night. I've never had this problem with my other kids.  How do I get her to go get in her own bed and stay ther until she is asleep? I have tried getting her to fall asleep in her sisters bed but she keeps her sister from getting enough rest for school with her squirming and snuggling.  The same thing happens to me when she is in my bed and I' scared she will fall from my bed (very high off the floor). Any advice is welcomed and thanx in advance!

I would watch super nanny, they always have problems with putting kids to bed and they always solve it the same way. Basically they do the bed time routine, put the child to bed, tell her you love her, say goodnight and walk out of the room. If she gets up, take her back to her bed and say it is bed time now, put her back in and leave. If she gets up again dont say anything just take her back in. continue to do this as many times as she gets up, but dont talk to her, or respond to anything she says or does. Just keep putting her back in. Eventually she will get that it is bedtime, and that you are not going to change your mind.

I havnt had to do this for my daughter because she is still in her crib. But thanks to sleep training i am hoping it will go more smoothly for me (knock on wood). When the nanny does it on the show it can take a long time, but it gets shorter everynight until she will just stay in bed by herself.

You can try it, as it seems to work for people. But I have never used it myself, I just dont know what else would work for you.
