12 month old feeding/gagging issues

Hi Ladies...Hope everyone is well. I have been having this on going issue with my daughter Sienna who is now 12 months old. Seems that she is still having some gagging problems with foods. She only has two bottom teeth and I think that may be half the problem, but it's very strange what she can handle and what she cannot. It would be much easier for me to list the two groups and see is anyone lese has dealt with this.

Things she has no problem with: Any kind of cereal (oatmeal, cheerios etc), Any 2nd foods with the exception of green veggies, eggs, toast (breads), tomato, fruits, yogarts, chicken (cut in very tiny pieces), ground meats.

Problem foods: All 3rd foods with the exception of cereals (she gaggs & throws up) mashed/baked potatoes (gaggs & throws up), any green veggies (gags).

I just can't figure out what the problem is. It seems like the foods she will take to are more chunky and she's fine with. Has anyone else dealt with this?

The foods are just to thick and she just isn't used to chewing before she decides to swallow. It will take her some practice but she might figure it out. My daughter is the same way. I am still feeding her second foods and she's 12 months too.

My daughter is almost 15 months and never would eat the stage 3 baby foods.  there is now wonder why have you tasted them. lol.  she also goes through stages of what she will eat.  now she is big on eggs with cheese on them and maderin orages.  she will no longer eat anything that tomatoe stuff on it like spaggetti, pizza, tomatoe in t\plain form.  I think they go through stages, and have to get used to the new texures.  I still do feed her stage 2 sometimes.

Thank you both very much. I was starting to worry a little. Sienna will not touch anything in a 3rd food or anything with a tomato sauce, but she will eat plain tomato...strange. I personaly love any kind of potato, but she doesn't tolerate potatoes either. Maybe one day. Thanks again.
