Finding a mothers group
I am a stay at home mom and I would like find a mothers group in my area. I have been looking on the internet, but every group I find is an hour away. I need some advice on hoe to find one that is closer to me. I really need to get out of the house and find some new friends. I feel like it is always me and the baby and it is starting to take its toll on me.

I know exactly how you feel. I live 3 1/2 hours away from all my family and friends. It is just me my husband and my son and my husband is always at work, so it's really just me and my son, and while I adore my little guy, sometimes you just need a grown up friend. I hope you find yours.

Becky, you might want to check with your hospital as well. They usually offer classes/support groups in all different topics. Where are you from?

You could also try going to local parks and introduce yourself to other moms there, the library, or gyms- some YMCA or other gyms have mommie and baby swimming or other classes.

I totally understand how you feel. I looked on Craigslist and they had a few groups in my area. You could also put up a notice at your church, etc...

Becky,
For a long time I knew how you felt. I remember being really frustrated. I did join a group and ended up becoming the organizer a few months after being a member.
You could start your own group or join something like My Gym. Yes, there is a cost to this but the other mothers are paying the same and the children are all the same age for each class. My son has been going to My Gym for 2 months now and he has made some friends his own age. It is great for me because us moms are all on the same boat. The other great place to meet moms and others kids is at stortytime. See when your local library is having storytime and events.
Here is My gym information to see if there is one near you: Info@MyGymReno.com

I hope that is helps!
