My name is Mary.  I have 2 beautiful children.  John who will be 2 in June and Kathryn who is 5 months old.  John has not been diagnosed with any disability yet but b/c Muscular Dystrophy runs in my family the docs think this is what he has.  He has always been several months behind in his gross motor development. I am just looking for other moms out there who have been through this so I don't feel so alone. I don't know what else to say but hope to hear from someone soon.

Hi Mary and welcome!!  My name is Dawn and I have 3 children. My youngest Shaun is 2 years old and has Down Syndrome.  Waiting on a dx for your child can be very nerve racking. I know after my son was born and we waited for his blood test results to come back that week felt like the longest week of my life.   Feel free to hit me up if you would like to chat. Thanks, Dawn!  When I was pregnant with my son, he had a very large nuchal measurement and we all thought he had Down Syndrome.  He was tested via CVS for every genetic test that could have been done while in utero and nothing was found. I believe that large nuchal measurement WAS an indicator for something...we just don't know exactly yet.  Once we start the whole diagnosis process I will need support for sure.  So, thank you!
