My son is 4, but has no interest in getting out of pull ups. My mom and I even tried calling him a baby when he's in them. H wants to be in underwear some of the time, but everytime he has sat on the potty, he'd hold it until I put on the pull up (underwear). It is just a mess waiting to happen. I am tired of this stage.

You should get a male in the family to go with him. Number 1 that is. Drop a couple cheerios in the toilet as targets or have a peeing race. It then becomes fun. He'll be excited to go in the potty when it becomes fun. Going 2 is different. It will follow eventually once he gets used to the peeing.

go cold turkey and get rid of the pull ups!  We were in pull ups for 5 months. finally I got rid of them. Two days of mess, then dry after that. with a few mess now and then.
