My 6 yr old daughter

Hi my name is Anya, I am a 30yr old proud mother of four beautiful children. Two boys and two girls from the ages of 12,10,6 and 3. My six year old daughter is giving me problems at home as far as not following my instructions. Let me give you a little background. Jasmine my daughter was kept from me by her father for three years. I just recently got her back, physical and sole custody Jan 09. At first everything seemed fine until she went to visit her aunt for the weekend. While she was there she wouldn't do anything she was told, stole some candy and money. When I asked her why she was behaving that way all she could tell me was her head told her to. She does excellent in school her teacher has even stated that she follows direction very well, but when it comes to home its totally different. What should I do? How should I react? Please help mom in desparate need of help.

Hi Anya -

Ask Jasmine to come to you when her head is telling her to do "stuff."  Then you can sit down with her and talk over what the best way to deal with what she is hearing.

Blessings,

Mary
