Hi Amanda,

NH is a great place to live, one of the safest states in the country-I forget where I heard that, but anyways it really is great.  We have the mountains for skiing & hiking, lots of lakes for swimming-boating-ice skating and the ocean is not far away from most places in NH.  We have lots of places for kids including santas village-storyland-watercountry-lost river-cog railway-mount washington.  NH is offers tax free shopping and affordable alcohal prices too!  We enjoy maple sugaring in March!  If you like malls there is are two good malls in southern NH -1 in salem and one in nashua.  There is also a mall in Manchestser and concord, although the concord mall is kinda blah.  We have a good airport-MHT-southwest flies in so the prices are very competative.  NH has daily bus service to boston downtown and boston logan airport.  No train service yet.

If you want to know more about events/activities in NH go to www.visitnh.gov.  You can also subscribe to NHToDo Magazine-full of ideas of fun family related activities in the state of NH.

I live in Sutton, about 30 minutes west of concord, its a sleepy little town but everyone here is so nice and its home!  If you want to live in a larger town city then consider manchester/nashua/concord/salem/or porstmouth.  Portsmouth is nice but very expensive.

If you need daycare in NH you can expect to pay about 170.00 per week for fulltime.

If you need cloth diapers in NH, ask me, I sell them on MyBabyFirst.com.

Best of luck with your decision, I hope this helps.

Hey wow!  Thanks! thast some great info!

We are looking for a sleepy little town.  I am from Rochester NY but my husband is from up here.  I like the small town environment.  BUT I do need access to good schools and medical services. And decent shopping.  :)

In my research I had seen a bit about Pinkerton Academy. Looks like an excellent educational opportunity.  But it also looks like it serves a more expensive area to live in.  Where we end up really depending on where my hubs gets a job (he is an electical/mechanical engineer with a background in manufacturing).  It has been suggested to look in Southern NH.  Do you agree?

Thanks again!
