So sorry you didn't have luck with meetup.com. Maybe you could start your own group on there and see if it peeks anyone's interest! Have you looked into mops (mother of preschoolers) organization? Is there a library close by? Check out a story hour maybe they have one geared toward his age group? Maybe look into enrolling him in a class (like swimming or karate) or a sport?
