Does anyone have an opinion about Vonage or digital phone?
I am looking to save some money on my phone bill, and have come across vonage. I have heard that the only downfall is that when there is a power outage you also lose your phone. I am kinda scared of that. Has anyone used vonage or digital phone? And what do you guys think about it? Is it worth the switch? Thanks for your input.

My sister has Vonage, and so far she hasn't said anything negative about it. Hope that helps a little. Personally, I use comcast for everything, my phone, tv, and internet.

I'm also looking for a good deal w/a phone, cable & online package. Any suggestions?

I didn't even go look where you guys are all from, but I have an all-in-one plan through my cable company, Time Warner Cable, and I spend about $120-$130 a month for that. I really like mine...only downfall about it is that I have wireless internet,so when the net goes out for a sec, so does the phone. My ex's mom uses Vonage, and she loves hers, she says she'll never go to another company if she doesn't have to....

I have Time Warner Cable for basic antenna service only at $18/mth and our local phone company for phone & Internet service (a combined $87/mth). Was wondering if bundling them together in one package w/one company would be cheaper or maybe I'm getting a better deal this way.

Time Warner Cable? Where do you guys live? Because that sounds pretty cheap, and I'd like to look into it if it's in my area...

I live in Maine. The $18/mth (Time Warner Cable) is only for antenna service which gives us all the local stations, but no "cable" stations. But for us that's plenty! I have an "unlimited calling" and DSL package from our local phone company for $87. So, mthly total for t.v, Internet & phone is $105. Do you think this is about as cheap as I'm going to find?

I live in New York, and I don't know if TWC is all over the US or not, but it's definitely worth looking into.

I'm in NY too, and I have TWC. I like the phone, but there is that thing with it not working in a power outage. I have digital cable, internet and phone for about 130, a huge savings over the alternative in my area. It is definitely cheaper to bundle the services, so check with your local cable company.

Cheryl, it sounds like you have a pretty good deal there, but if you ever decide you want cable, you can get all 3 services from TWC and it's only a little more than you are paying now. That is probably the cheapest you will find unless you want to switch to a dial up internet connection.

No thanks on the dial-up! Someday I might bite it and get the phone, cable and Internet package from TWC but for now I'm way too cheap! Anyway, right now TWC doesn't have digital phone service in my area, though they are currently working to get it here.

Shyanne,
I have a packaged deal with Bellsouth. Which includes DSL, their long distance package etc. with Directv. They are all package together. If you have Directv, bellsouth gives you a $10 discount off of your bill. You could give them a call and see what they have to offer to save you money.
