My angry son....

My son Dallas will be four in June. His little sister Melanie is one and they were the best of fiends. About a month ago he started to be mean to her. Real mean. They dont have the same dad and his father left for Florida. When she returns from being alone with her dad he gets mean. He hits her, punches her, and just started to kick. I dont know if anyone else has had this problem but any info would be helpful. Thank you!

By all means please dont think he is evil and will kill your kids! haha. Hes not. Its only her. And not ever her in general. Just when she goes with her dad. He is great with other kids. Even her. Its only a day or two after she comes back from a weekend with him and then he is fine again. Any ideas?

I have use to have that problem with my son, well he is still young but i watch my sisters 17 month old and when we have a few days without him he use to push and hit him all the time for a day or two when he would come back, it could be that he likes the one on one time with you and than when she comes back he is upset and what better way for a four year old to tell you than to beat his sister lol.   i would just start talking about her coming home the day before and maybe let him help you get her stuff ready, like make her bed for when she comes, that way he is already adjusting to her being back home before she gets there. just a suggestion.
