How many work at home?

I would love to be able to stay home with ym son than put him into daycare in a few months. But it seems most of the work from home things I find either blatanlty sound like scams, or want some big initial investment. I know its a long shot, but does anyone know of REAL work at home possibilities?

First, I would NEVER pay up front for a job - those are scams.

If you're lucky, you might be able to work out something with your current employer to work part-time or only be in the office a few days a week to limit day care.  That's if you're really lucky.

Otherwise, most of the SAHD that I know that work free-lance either as consultants for various businesses or web designers.  There are also sites like elance.com or domystuff.com that you can bid on jobs people are offering.  I haven't done it, but I know it's out there.  Finally, you could always put something together like selling on eBay or Amazon.

From personal experience, though, it's not easy to stay at home and work from home.  I work part-time from home with a 10 month old, and the only time that I work is during his nap or at night - when he's awake I have to focus on him.  Going into it I thought I'd have a lot more time - yeah... :-).

Good luck!
