My son won't sleep anywhere but his crib.

I was hoping someone might have some suggestions... My son will not sleep anywhere but his crib.  I can't ever be gone during nap time even if my son is at his grandma's house b/c he will not sleep.  I have tried using his pack n' play, taking his loveys with, taking all his blankets from his crib and putting them in his pack n' play.   I am worried about our vacation because we are going camping and  I don't want to have Ben screaming all night and keeping the camp ground awake.  PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

We took our 2 daughters camping, they were 6 months and 2 years, and they did fabulous. The baby has a lot of troubles with sleeping, but I think that being out in the fresh air all day did wonders for her. Hope your trip goes well!

my son wouldn't go to sleep unless I layed with him.. so at 6:30pm I had to go to the tent and lay with him.. And if he woke up I had to go back to him.. So, I didn't get to socialize or anything at the campfire and just had to go to bed early.. it was cold in the morning and what made it colder was that he had leaked his diaper and I was soaked with pea!!!!! It wasn't fun for me or anyone else because I complained the whole time!  we left the next morning but my daughter and hubby stayed the rest of the time.. I love my bed and love my hairdryer.. and love that my son could sleep at home with me!!! in a warm bed..

my son is 14 months right now. We are going camping this June then again in August.  We took him last year when he was 7months old and he did fine,  he just started the sleeping issues in the last 2 months.  I am not only concerned about camping, its all the time that he won't go to bed anywhere. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this might sounds insane, but my son also would only sleep in his crib, so we purchased a porta-crib (different from a pac and play). I don't know if it will fit in a tent but it surely fits folded in my nissan versa. It was only about $75, so it might be worth it. He sleeps in it whenever we travel. The mattress isn't as thick as a regular crib mattress but its a lot thicker than the pac n' play one. I hope this helps! I may be way off base here.

We take my daughter to our boat on weekends all summer and she started not sleeping in the pack and play.  We contemplated getting a portable crib but since we had already spent so much on a pack and play and bassinet we didn't want to spend the extra money.  We decided to put a portable crib mattress in the pack and play and it worked great.  Beware, the mattresses aren't the same size so we rolled up soft blankets and stuffed them along the gap.  I wouldn't recommend that for a very small baby but for a 12 or 13 month old it worked great.  She slept much better after that.  Good luck.

Thanks so much for the advice I am going to look into a porta crib and the mattresses.

Hi, my kids were like yours, wouldn't sleep anywhere but in the crib.  But when we went on trips, they slept like angels because we were so close to them.  Like someone above said, it was sometimes a little rough for the socializing, but the up-side was that they slept in later because they were so relaxed by having us there so close.

Good luck!
