I blog, write articles and even have a video series on YouTube http://www.MentorWithMaryEllen.info on how to set goals. I have to admit when you have children at home you need to be able to stick to your weekly goals but have some flexability.
I have found that picking the 3 major things you want to accomplish in your business helps you build your business. Now I have 2 small children and things can come up that change what I have choosen to do that day.
Over the past 3 years I have learned a lot of things and the main one is to set my week but remain flexable.
If you state the 3 main things that need to get done it helps. Also if you focus on making Monday well for me Monday is usually my busiest day. That way I can create momentum for the week no matter what comes up with the kids. LOL but if you are SAHM you know that sometimes monday can be hectic with unexpected surprises so then we go for Tuesday.
The point is to start you week off with as much as you can so that when you are needed at a Mom first then you don't have to fret about getting your "work" done.
PS Letting the house go a bit at times helps. I generally only do a good cleaning on a friday or over the weekend. During the week we let things slide around the house.
Hope that helps,
