help

I am a 23 year old married mother of 4 my oldest child is 5 and has the mouth of a 13 year old girl but my son is my main concern he throws these fits to the point that he will make himself vomit he has even given himself a bloody nose by slamming his head on things when he doesn't get his way he will do this over the littlest thing like the channel getting changed on TV. I don't know what to do any suggestions?

Hi, I don't know if my advise could help, but I'll try. First of all I know how it can be dealing with children who have such a rough time in life. My heart truly goes out to you and your family. It sounds like your little boy is acting out his emotions, maybe of frustrations. Maybe his emotional plate is overfull and what you see, over simple non important things is the overflow of what's going on just beneath the surface. Kids can't always figure out why they do, or feel a certain way. Maybe he's just doing what relieves his anxiety or another emotion. The problem with anxiety is that esp in kids doesn't look the way you think it should. Consider taking him to a counselor, especially one with a good reputation and that is certified in play therapy. Kids don't always just spit out what is on their hearts, minds. But sometimes with one on one playtime you can glimpse possibilities. I wish you luck and hoping for the best:). The good thing about this, can be that the behavior has tipped you off about what really might be the matter and you are not just ignoring it and thinking it'll just go away.
