"Mommy Matinees" in the city?

Hi, all,

I'm a stay-at-home dad with a five-month-old baby boy, and I'm wondering if there are any movie theaters in the city that do daytime matinees for parents with babies (dim lights, lower volume).  My son would like to meet some more babies, and I'm getting really stir-crazy!

thanks

Found one:

City Cinemas on 86th and 3rd, (212) 734-4427

Wednesday at 11:00, they show a movie for people with babies.  This week (Apr.8th) it's ADVENTURELAND.  I'll go and report back soon!

Oh man - Sunshine would be perfect for me.  It's much closer to me by train, and the film selection's a lot more interesting (City Cinemas had a baby-matinee showing of Miss March, fer pete's sake...I waited til the next week and saw Adventureland).

City Cinemas was only so-so.  There was a changing table, but they had the lights all the way off and the volume up high.  It was fine for the really young babies who just slept the whole time, but I brought a seven-month-old and he wasn't comfortable being in the dark.  We ended up playing quietly in the aisle the whole time.  I was the only daddy there, and wasn't really invited into the group conversation at the end (maybe the mothers all knew each other?  Several of them mentioned living "around the corner" on the Upper East Side).  I'll take my baby to Sunshine Wednesday.

Thanks!
