Hello

Hi. My name is Heather and I am a first time parent. My daughter just turned one this month and I am out to see that I am not the only who has let their child go to bed with a bottle so I can sleep or to see that I am not the only who heated up mac and cheese two days in a row........

Nope, ur not alone. I always said I'd never prop my baby's bottle, #1 bcuz I wanted to feed her so we can bond & #2 for fear of it dripping in to her ear & causing an ear infection. And, I've never been a fan of left overs, but now that I'm a new F/T working mommy, I've had to prop my baby's bottle in the morning while I get dressed or whatever & not only r left overs no longer a no-no, but I got in to freezing food! There's only 24 hrs in a day, I'm just coming to terms w/ that. I cant do it all. I have to sacrafice 1 thing for another. I can either get take out & spend an extra hour of quality time w/ my baby or cook a five course meal & no extra time w/ baby.

Hey Heather.  I used to prop my babies bottle sometimes, I wouldn't advise anyone else to.  When you do that you have to sleep light or have a trained ear to hear what it sounds like if they are spitting up or choking.  Never leave the room, it is possible that they can drink it too fast and throw it all up.  Then you have a funky baby and a big funky mess (lol).  I have to say after years of experience and 6 kids, I think its better to invest that 15 minutes or so to feed them than spend 3 hrs. in the ER to get ear infection medicine.  That medicine is also damaging to their kidneys and liver if they ge recurring ear infections.  If you just have to I understand, thats your business. Try to put baby as close as possible to you so you can hear her or see her.

Luckely we are now far pass the bottle and proping it up. She is now 13 months old so we have surpassed that. I was just pointing out that I have done it and was under the impression for this page was to vent our " bad parenting confessions."
