Ok, so ever since I've had my little one, my TV time was cut by way more than half & watching a 2 hr movie has become a 2 month process (15 minutes here, 10 minutes there). This is why I started choosing what I watch more carefully. Might as well make the movies & TV shows worth while. I watch Super Nanny just about every Friday (Here in CA it comes out at 9pm PST) Does anyone else watch this show? Do you find it helpful? And did anyone see this past episode where they showed a dad who literally slapped his toddler, not once but twice in the face? ON CAMERA!? Hello? Anyone think of calling Social Services? But the dad who did this didnt piss me off half as much as the mom. How are you just going to sit there next to your husband w/ ur mouth open in shock when you are being shown video of him slapping your daughter in the face, so hard, it made the little girl fall back on to the floor. I dont condone violence, but seriously, it would have been a mom reflex to back hand my man if I were to see him doing this to my child. What's wrong w/ these women? I swear I would have literally took flight on my husband & started beating him! Is it just me, or would anyone tolerate this? I believe in making your relationship work and trying out all avenues, but common arent there any boundaries? Ok, I need to stop bcuz I'm upsetting myself. On another note, I just saw the movie "Fireproof" and would highly recommend it to anyone in a relationship or who plans to ever be in a relationship. Anyone else see this movie? If so, have you done any of the exercises? They actually have the 40 day Love Dare book for sale. |

I watch Super Nanny every Friday as well. It also comes on at 9pm EST. My husband also gave me her book "Ask Super Nanny" for my birthday last year. I haven't seen the episode you're talking about yet. Hope I didn't miss it.
I've been watching this show long before I got pg and I found it helpful back then and still do now. I wouldn’t tolerate my husband hitting our kids in the face either. I have 2 y/o twin boys who do try our patience and I have given them a little whack on the hand but I have never and will ever hit or slap them in the face! And hubby agrees.
I know if that were my husband slapping one of our boys in the face I would have gone postal on him right then and there!
I haven’t seen “Fireproof” or even heard of it so I looked it up on IMDb. I don’t know if it’s something I would ordinarily watch but I might if it comes out on cable.

It was the "Davis Family" (On Super Nanny). The man's name was Phil Davis. Yes, I know his name and believe me I am still debating on whether to call ABC or Social Services. Now I dont want to turn this in to a to spank or not to spank thing, but I have nothing against spanking. I dont plan to use it as my method of discipline, however will do so if I feel it necessary. But this man slapped his like 3 year old in the face. TWICE! Once because he was asleep & the little girl slapped him so he slapped her back and made her fall on her behind while he went right back to sleep. All this w/ camara's in his house, so can you imagine what he does when there arent any camara's around? I was sooo P.O'd. But more at the mom, you know? Because if the dad is an ignorant bully w/ 1000 excuses for his behavior, whatever, but what's her excuse? How could her motherly instincts not kick in and have her go postal as you say on this man who hit her child!? Oh and he'd call them all the B* word. Each and every one of his daughters from age like 2 - 14. Common. |

I saw that Supernanny episdoe. I think the only reason Child Services hasn't came in is because he is supposedly improving his behavior. Hopefully, they are keeping tabs on him, cause that was extremley disturbing. I like to watch the show every Friday night too, to remind myself how my kids cannot turn out!!!!!
I am waiting to see Fireproof! I saw Facing the Giants which is another movie the same makers made and my hubby & I just loved it... so we're excited to see it... just waiting for Netflix to have it available, its #1 in my que!!!!! |

Its a highschool football team that would be equivalent to David who go up against a team thats equivalent to Goliath... its so heart warming, its a great movie for men, women and teens, if Fireproof is half as good I know its great cause that was one of the most inspiring movies I have ever seen! |
