Can anyone tell me if there is something that I can give my daughter to slow down her diarrhea? She had a virus last weekend and has since had diarrhea and it can get so bad sometimes. I brought her to the doctor and they said that if she still had it Monday to call the office. This would make it 9 days!! I don't think they will offer a precription and I would rather not have her on meds anyway, but I am at my wits end.
I am soooo tired of changing sh***y diapers it's ridiculous. I can't tell you how often I am changing her clothes and running the washing machine. I feel so bad for her to go through this, but it's really taking it's toll on me. I have been giving her cereal and applesauce and no change. I even went as far as bananas, but she does not like bananas at all.
She litterally just cut her second tooth today and I heard that teething can cause diarrhea, but I can't imagine it would be this bad and this long. Any suggestions on something I can try would be wonderful.
I am not sure how to help, but I would definitely be calling her ped back tomorrow. My daughter is the other way around. She is now 27 months and has always suffered from constipation. That has a whole other set of issues. Good Luck! I hope she feels better soon!
Try switching out the applesauce! It can give my son the "poops". Try chicken broth or oatmeal and water (instead of milk). My son loves chicken broth when he is sick. I would try knocking out the applesauce though. It may be making it worse. Good luck! Diarrhea is the worst!
