Anyone have any tips for camping with a baby? He is mobile, so I am mostly worried about him sleeping at night. He can nap during the day in his pack n play, but I don't think it will fit in the tent, so I'm not sure what to do about putting him down at night. |

Maybe try an air mattress they have small ones made for kids. |

it might be too small or he could roll out of it but you could try a moses basket. |

I hope this doesn't sound crazy... Try tethering yourself to him if you're worried that he'll crawl off into the darkness while you're sleeping. Buy one of those child tethers they sell (the type that looks like the kid is on a leash) and attach it before you sleep. That way, if he wanders off, he'll tug at you, waking you up. I'd be too worried to sleep and enjoy myself if I thought my baby might crawl away... |

When we travel with our son, I put him to sleep in his bouncy seat. He likes it, and it reclines flat so he's not sitting up all night. Just be sure to strap him in. |

Actually, Elizabeth, that makes sense. What do I do about him going to sleep at 8 and we want to stay up later? I'm not comfortable with him being in the tent alone. Maybe we'll just get a bigger tent so his pack n play will fit. He's too big and mobile for a smaller carrier. |
