Cooking out
The traditional hamburgers and hot dogs are not very appealing. Anyone have suggestions for healthier (and tastier) things for grilling?

We love to grill out as well, and no hot dogs are not very tasty! Try some grilled chicken breasts! Not really sure what else!

You could always use ground turkey or chicken for your hamburgers and turkey brats for the hot dogs. Or you could simply grill chicken with a little bbq sauce or with a little bit of olive oil and grill seasoning. But my favorite is grilled salmon, I just love salmon. And of course you can grill veggies too!! hope this helps!

*Grill Tofu & Vegetables. (My marinade consists of : sesame oil, balsamic vinegar, grated garlic & ginger, dried or fresh rosemary, basil, thyme, & oregano, pepper, soy sauce, lemon, olive oil) Let sit overnight preferably in a Tupperware container-if not, two hours will suffice. "Tofu"-use Firm or X-tra Firm. Grill. My entire family, yes the kids-14year old and 4 love this.

*Chicken-breasts, legs, thighs, with veg and brown rice.

*Shrimp Kabob: Raw shrimp, with Mushrooms. Use marinade similiar to the one I have mentioned on the shrimp.

*Turkey Burgers: for a twist, I add crunched up "Blue Corn Chips" to the turkey, it blends a good flavor.

*Fish-Catfish, Salmon.

*As for hot dogs, we only use "Hebrew Nationals"

*As for Hamburgers-I spice mine up by adding "Chipotle, cheese, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, bread crumbs-just add to the meat and it won't be so boring.

I grill just about everything you can cook.

Man those are some great ideas. I also like to grill fruit for dessert. Sometimes I put sugar on it and it makes a nice carmelazation. I like pineapple, strawberries, mango, and other tropical fruit on my kabob. Happy grilling!

Thanks, those are some great ideas. I can't wait to grill some veggies for a change from the usual.

I haven't made them in a while, but I used to make these yummy chicken kabobs:
On a kabob, put raw chicken cubes, pineapple, onion, mushrooms, and green and red peppers. Let marinate in soy sauce and lemon juice for a couple of hours. Grill and enjoy!
