Going back to work
Hi,

Iam so new to this... my baby is only a month old and am having a hard time dealing with motherhood. To make it all worse, I am going back to work soon. I would like to find a reliable, trustworthy sitter for 2 days a week. Any ideas where to start looking?

I think Grandma is always the first best option, but any relative there after is good, too. A best friend who doesnt work or doesnt work your schedule? If not a family friend. Lucky for me I have my baby's paternal grandma as well as a family friend who we all love and who actually took care of us when we were little. The problem w/ them being this little is they are too young to give you any feed back. Cant very well tell you the nanny yelled at him/her. I know I looked for someone who had my same thoughts and values when it came to raising a child. I have a little girl, so I want someone who wont leave my daughter alone w/ her son, husband, or anyone else for that matter. Someone who wont let anyone else change her diaper. Someone who believes in God so as my child grows older, she can help implement what we teach at home. In my case someone who speaks Spanish as we speak Spanish and English to my daughter. Someone who you can trust to be open w/ all ur request and can trust you to tell/ask you anything. For example, I have a video I ask the baby sitter to put on once a day for my five month old (its part of the ur baby can read program). She may think I'm crazy for doing things like this, but respects my wishes and does it. It's SOOO hard picking that right person. I struggled with it my entire last trimester and the first months I was off w/ my baby.

I would have never gone back to work so early if my husband aunt didnt have a daycare. I dont think I would trust a stranger with my new born. I agree that family is the best option if you have that. If you dont then I would look on the state website to look for liscensed daycares and one that have good reviews.
