Yeah I know how you feel. I feel like I am at least six months and counting. As soon as the weather stays warm I am thinking of going on walks and having my husband watch my little man or taking him with in his stroller. There also tips online about what women can do around the house while we are keeping everything in order and exercise at the same time.

Hi Amanda!!!

to love thyself doesnt come from the outside in... it starts inside out...why cant you wear lingerie now? I am sure they have it in your size... you ask for quick fixes but that isnt possible.. you can buy all the diet pills in the world and still feel fat..I suggest joining a place to help called sparkpeople.com.. its a group of women like us wanting to change their lives.. some have amazing stories others are on their way.. in each City and state their are sparkpeople teams.. you can possibly find one in your area.. its a group of women who are in your area and basically become your support group.... they have dieting and also free calculators on this site and always information about the latest and greatest things to do when depression hits hard or any other woman ailment comes into play.....

Hey there! I knew just how you felt a few months ago...I just started taking a caffene pill everyday to make sure I had the energy I needed to do everything I needed to do but other than that nothing real special...I've been trying to do more cardio and I've been trying to do crunches everyday but most of the time my exersize is chasing after my son. My hubby has tried the hydroxicut and it seemed to work for him, maybe try that

please do not go and take any pills for dieting...they shock your body into losing weight, then you will damage yourself, and gain back when you stop. I hate to sound so basic, but there's no substitution for proper diet and exercise. Even if it's getting up and out a little more each day, that will help. Smaller meal portions too, but please no pills. :)

I know how you feel. Right now I weigh a little MORE than I did when I was my biggest with my twins!! Ridiculous is the only word that comes to mind. Fortunately my office is doing a Biggest Loser competition that has encouraged me to take action and eat better. My main problem is that I eat too much of the wrong foods, and my metabolism is slow..Its easy for me to gain, but not so easy to lose weight. I hate to waste food, so I would find myself eating my childrens leftovers off their plates, and just eating way too much food all the time b/c it was good. I am making a concious decision that I NEED to lose weight. Im not healthy and I need to do something about it. I have recently thought of taking some form of weight loss pill to assist me in losing weight, but Im wary of those kinds of things b/c I fear that when I stop taking the pills I would gain all my weight back. I would rather just do it naturally and continue eating a healthy diet to maintain a healthy weight.
Just an FYI, 3500 calories = 1 pound, so if you eat at least 3500 calories a day without really burning any calories you will continue to gain weight. On the flip side if you burn 3500 calories or any amount of calories greater than your daily intake you will lose weight.
I think you can do a google search for weight loss or calorie calculator or something like that and it will tell you how many calories you burn doing housework or walking, etc
I hope you find something that works for you.

hey ladies,
i know exactly how you all feel and i agree that diet and exercise are probably the way to go, but sometimes it's hard to make time. my grandpa, who has been practicing yoga for years and years and hasn't gained a pound and is in great shape and is 80 said that 20 minutes of yoga is a really good trick. i've tried it and it really works for me. the other thing is that before you start exercise program, try fasting for 1 or 2 b/c that shrinks the stomach and you automatically eat less each time. my grandpa fasts once a month for a day to "cleanse" the system. it's hard and i've not been able to do the fasting thing but i have tried cutting my portion a little bit each day and fill up with water and i've lost inches if not weight exactly! god luck.

we started tracking our weight loss in the "hotties w/ kids" group, except the girl who started this is now pregnant, but that doesnt mean we cant keep motivating each other to loose weight as well as motivate her to have a healthy pregnancy. I was able to loose almost 20 lbs the first two months after my daughter was born but then the holidays came around and I now feel like I hit a brick wall and cant get started on my weight loss again. I joined weight watchers about 2 weeks ago, but havent actually followed the program. First I was going to give myself just one more week (to eat what I wanted) then I had minor surgery last week so I cant very well be concerned w/ what I eat when I'm popping vicatin all day. I dont pay the weekly fee at weight watchers. I just bought the beginners kit, and figure I can count my own points and weight loss on my own. And, if I need motivation, I can come to you ladies for free :)
I know you have a large family. I just bought the "Biggest Looser Family Cookbook" that has budget friendly recipies for the entire family. I noticed when I was on Nutrisystem, it was convinient because I only had to worry about me. Now that I'm back w/ my daughter's dad, I have to cook, so diets w/ pre-packaged foods wont work. Good luck and maybe we can help motivate each other!?

Not sure if it will help you but I'll tell you my story. Had my first baby unexpectedly at 38 after 15 years of infertility. Since having her I felt like crap!! Unbelievable cravings to chocolate and soda (was never a soda drinker before). I would sweat terribly!! I was tired and my whole body hurt. I had terrible, debilatating indigestion and my previously controlled hypoglycemia (low-blood sugar) was out of control. After going to my OB/GYN a few times and getting different blood work, I was told nothing was wrong. I was told the old, eat better. eat less and exercise and I would feel better and lose weight. Didn't work. Beat myself up because I felt like I should have better willpower and be stronger. Well, I finally saw a Naturopathic Doctor and was diagnosed with adrenal dysfunction, hypothyroidism and a hiatal hernia. I was given some natural supplements for the adrenal dysfunction and hypothyroidism and exercises to help the hernia go back in place one week ago and I am a different person!!! I don't HAVE to diet or exercise, I'm just doing it. I got my old self back and I have already lost weight. (I never weigh myself but my clothes are fitting different.) I'm writing this to let everyone know that a baby can cause havoc on a women's body and unfortunately doctors hands are tied by the pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies to do anything about it. If you ever knew a doctor personally you would know that very often they tell their patients one thing because they have to but do very different for themselves and family members. Consider that there might be something medically wrong with you, even if you have been told differently by a doctor. Follow your instincts.
