Hi,
My name is Kelly and I am so happy I've found a group like this for support. My boyfriend is a musician and we've been dating for several months. I used to swear to myself I would never date a musician but I fell for one..funny how life bites you in the ass. Sometimes the lifestyle is really difficult to deal with though I admit...the weekend work, the tours, band rehearsals, gigs on holidays...anything that might get in the way of a normal life. Granted, this life is anything but normal but it's nice to be able to talk about it with women who are in my situation and may have trouble with the lonliness, late nights etc... at times. There's times I just sit alone by myself and cry and it's not something he can understand at all because he's not the one dating him and he can't understand why it gets so lonely sometimes and why it hurts to take a backseat to the band, its members, and all the gigs. I love him and that's why I think it hurts from time to time. It's good to know I'm not alone in my frustration. Glad you guys are here. |

| Hey, there. Yeah! This is the life explained in reality. I just love how television shows the woman of the musician all dolled up with a beautiful house and nothing to do with themselves. That is not reality. There are too many women out there with musicians that aren't making that kind of money. |

Hi Kelly,
Welcome to the group! I hope you are able to connect with some great girls on here and find some good pen pals to write when you are feeling....well less than thrilled about dating a musician.
I know how it feels to sit at home and cry. Not only am I dating a guy in a band, but we are in a long distance relationship. Which means even more alone time.
