Mommy Night Out?
I don't know about all of you, but I could use a bit of a break. How about we get together for dinner or drinks at someplace interesting?

For indoor dining (i.e. immediate future night out): Kitaro (for sushi or hibatchi -kinda pricey, tho), Crazy Sushi (Now I have Nikki's attention..), Jive & Wail (new dueling piano place on N & MRM, reallllllly smokey from what I understand), McGurk's in O'Fallon (nice pub), and then there always is the Chocolate Cafe in O'Fallon if we're feeling especially naughty.

For outdoor dining this spring, I really really really would love to get a group together to go down to my FAVORITE place, The Scottish Arms. Before I got pregnant, Rob and I would go down there and spend an entire evening with friends with a bottle or two of wine and a basket of crisps. Plus, a very good friend of mine works there - best looking guy in a kilt. :)

Anyway - I've rambled enough - your thoughts?

I've been meaning to check out the O'Fallon McGurk's, Chocolate Cafe is a favorite and Scottish Arms sounds good too!

I am defiantly up for a night out. Anything sounds good to me. Just let me know some dates so I can check my work schedule.

I love the idea of a mom's night out! I have been to Kitaro and loved it (a bit pricey though, my dinner was $25). I have never been to any of the other restaurants Andrea mentioned, but they all sound great to me. Does anyone have a date in mind? Maybe a Friday, or Sat night?

How about February 27-28, or March 6-7? If we do Friday, I could do 7pm or later...if we do Saturday I can do anytime.

Feb 27-28 is out for me. Rob's bday is the 28th, so we'll do something for that one of those nights.

The March dates should be alright by me. If we're ever going to head down to the Arms, spring really is best for that. If you're going to trek all the way down there (it's near the CWE) you might as well go when the weather is nice.

Liz is right, Kitaro is lots of fun, but definitely on the pricey side of things. Of course, as I'm writing this reply I'm thinking of even more great places to go (several of them are best in warm weather, unfortunately...)

The list thus far: (I'm trying to avoid chain restaurants for something different.)

Drunken Fish (Westport Plaza)
Rendezvous Wine Bar (across from McGurk's in O'Fallon)
Trailhead Brewery (Main Street)
Old Millstream Inn (Next to Trailhead - also one of my FAVORITE places to go on a nice night.)
McGurk's in O'Fallon
Crazy Sushi (on Mid Rivers Mall Drive)
Kitaro (a wee bit pricey)
Chocolate Cafe (K & 40 in O'Fallon - naughty, rich, decadent stuff - absolutely insane)

And if any of you are beer drinkers there is the brand new International Tap House in Chesterfield Valley. 500 beers. 500! 40 on tap and 460 bottles.

If anyone else has someplace they love - chain or otherwise - toss it out there.

Yay! Night out!

I am also up for a night out! And I am pretty much free most weekends in March. My SIL raves about the Jive and Wail. She went to the one in Maplewood, but I'm sure it's the same thing. Hmm... I see we have some sushi lovers in this group! I'm open for wherever, but I will have to say that I am not a sushi person :) I know that Drunken Fish has other types of foods though. I LOVE Old Millstream on a nice night also! It's great to grab some drinks and sit around the fire! Are you sure Chocolate Cafe is still open? I thought I heard a rumor about it closing. I could be wrong though!

Ok. I'm going to make an executive decision and say we try to go to Trailhead on the first Friday in March.

My logic behind it is that since it is right next to Millstream, if the weather is nice we can head there.

I will add it to the calendar. Please RSVP so I can try to make a reservation.

Andrea, way to make the executive decision! I love Trailhead and Millstream. Although, I have never actually eaten at Millstream, just had drinks there, but the atmosphere is great on a nice night! I can't wait!
