eggs, peanut butter
My daughter is 27 months old and she absolutely loves hard boiled egg whites! I boil the eggs, cool in frige, peel and take out the yoke...I figure she'll be exposed to enough cholesterol in her lifetime. And, she doesn't even like the yokes.

I haven't given her peanut butter yet, as I wasn't sure what age she should be before she tried it.

My son's pediatrician said 18 months, start with just a little and see how he does. I had been hearing for a long time that waiting is better, but lately they are saying starting earlier is fine. I would ask her doctor to be sure, since there may be specific health concerns to consider.

My son has been eating eggs and peanut butter since a year old (actually 9 or 10 months). He is a big boy though. He wears 2T and 3T clothing and is only 15 months old. Because of his size and the fact that he is hitting all of his major milestones ahead of time, my ped. said it would be ok to try in small amounts. Once he turned a year I have been giving him normal amounts. I would recommend talking to your ped. or doctor because every child is different. Thank God mine turned out healthy and happy!

I started my daughter on peanut butter just after her fist birthday, we've never had a problem. Just try a little bet and see if she has any reactions befor you give her a whole pbj sandwhich.
Good luck and I hope it goes well.

I also started my daughter on eggs and peanut butter at about 9-10 months old. She loves them both!!! Especially eggs. She will be one tomorrow and I swear she can eat almost three eggs. She would eat them each day if I would let her. Also just be aware because they have had alot of recalls on peanut butter lately. I think it is more like things with peanut butter in them then an actualy jar of peanut butter.

APA recommends PB after 2 yrs old. The main reason allergies and also that it is a choking hazards for babies. The PB gets stuck in the roof of the mouth, very hard for a baby to get it off. So it is recommended to start with a very thin layer of PB on crackers, but very thin and give him plenty of fluids. That is why there is the PB and jelly sandwich. The jelly helps the PB to not get stuck.
