Hello!! I have a 10 month old son who has never been sick!!! At first I was really happy that he has never been ill, then I found out that babies getting sick is good so it builds up their immunities. My family just moved to North Carolina from Indiana so we really don't know anyone in the area. I am a stay-at-home mom right now who doesn't get out a whole lot with my son. I am afraid that I may get a job in the future and have to place my child into daycare. I don't mind the daycare thing. I'm just scared that he'll get really sick once he is there causing me to miss a lot of the job that I have just started. Should I worry about this? Should I wait until he gets past his first illness before I start looking for work? I appreciate the feedback!! Thank you!!!
have you tried looking for play groups in the area? or maybe you can put your son in a daycare for 1 or 2 days a week. it will help him build up his immunities and learn how to interact with other kids. I have heard that getting sick does help build up their immunities, but from experience it's torture seeing them sick. my daughter started day care at 6 weeks and has had a few colds. i always hate seeing her miserable! but, i guess the bottom line is that kids are going to get sick - they are little germ factories, so no matter what you do it's gonna happen and your son will be just fine! good luck!
