I agree Bj's is great for diapers and wipes . Also when my son was a baby the formula was way cheaper there too. BJ is a great pick. Also if u go online to any brand of diapers website like pampers etc... u can sign up and then send great coupons in the mail Laura |

I save buy shopping at Sam's (which sounds like BJ's). WE save on diapers, wipes, dog food, and a lot of my 15 month olds snacks. Cheese crackers, fruit chews, fruit cups, cereal...I could go on. Also, I have joined a team called the Mom Team. I order environmentally friendly, safe cleaning and laundry products on-line and they are cheaper than shoppping at any store around here. Compared to the brands I was already using. |

Okay, so I'm going to talk to DH about this. I really think this is a great idea. We have talked about it before just never really gotten that far. Would you recommend Sam's or BJ's, we have both so I'm not sure which is better? Is there a way we can find out who has the better prices or is it just the same?? Thanks for any advice!! |

I've never been to Sam's because there isn't one near me. Try comparing online or go in and check the prices, then choose which place is cheaper for the things you buy most often. I would choose one or the other because depending on the cost, having both may not be very economical.
When comparing prices be sure to check the unit price because a bigger package is not necessarily a better value. |

I recently got a costco's membership which is similiar to sam's club and found on most of the stuff except the meat, I was paying more because they were name brand. It was cheap for a name brand but I could have bought the walmart brand for less. I did learn my lesson, I like the meat prices there, but still I feel like I spend less at walmart for my diapers and wipes(walmart brand of course). I really have to sit down and figure it out. Because I also have to figure in gas, for driving maybe to two separate stores for grocery and meat and diapers, ect. |

You're right, lots of things are more expensive even at the wholesale clubs because they are name brand. I also buy generic for most things. But buying in bulk does save money for certain items, so you just have to look carefully at the prices. Plus they have generic items for a lot of things at the wholesale clubs
The other thing is, where I live all of the stores are pretty close together, so I can go to BJ's, Walmart and Target all in the same trip.
The important thing to notice is not just the price you pay, but the unit price. Luvs at BJ's are about $13 per 100, while Pampers are about $19 per 100- no contest. But not everything is cheaper in a bulk package. I bought baby body wash at Target and the smaller bottle was a much better bargain. |

We have a Costco & Sams club cards. Costco carries more brands that I like. I have notice their bulk canned veggies (corn etc) are bigger than at Sams. I'm paying a few dollars more, but the cans are bigger or more in the box.
For all your personal care items, shampoos, body washes, soaps (hand, dish) things like that, buy them at CVS. They have a wonderful program there called Extra care Bucks.. You will not believe how much you will save there. I mean they really give you items, they PAY you to shop there !! Its amazing.
Rite Aid & Walgreens also have good rebate programs. Check them out online. |

Last October CVS had UNLIMITED sales. They had pantene, tampax, colgate and more on sale. They gave you full price back on all of them.
One week they had foundation on sale, buy 1 get 1 free. They gave you back $10 on each one !!
I used 1/2 & bought more foundation & got another $20 ! I took $30 bought the pantene, colgate etc.
My best receipt was $67 of merchandise, I paid 12 cents. In fact the cashier told me to buy a candy because they owed me money. Yesterday I bought a quatro razor for $6.99 I got $5 back, making the razor $1.99, I used the $5 for a case of Vitamin water which was $11.99. I paid under $9. |

I don't buy food at BJ's usually, except things like granola bars which keep for a while, or when we are having company and need more than usual. And spices. They are the same price as in the grocery store for huge containers, so even if you don't use it all it's still a good deal.
BJ's is good for saving money on dry goods, toys, diapers, wipes, batteries, and occasionally appliances or electronics. |

I love to shop at Costco.
I have the executive membership and I earn 2% back on my purchases. it ends up paying for the membership and more.
I've found that I have saved a ton of money. Especially since I have 2 children who are eating a lot now.
there are also some brand name stuff that I love and it is less expense to but there. Even the produce. Sometimes i will split it with my father. Now they are carrying a lot of organic food and the price is great on them. |

We buy our kids lunch items at sams club like juices and snack items for them also pasta, bread in 2 packs that we will eat in time, laundry detergent and bath stuff, you do have to watch because some stuff is more expensive but some is a good deal. The only downside is you can't use coupons. We also use the walmart brand formula our dr said it was just as good and a great way to save money the cans are about \$10 where as the similac is almost $20 so we save over half per can. |
