Hi, I'm not sure why you are asking, but my daughter is 9 months old and is only 27 inches and weighs 17lbs11oz. I was worried because I know she is on the petite side, but Doc says it's normal and okay. Not sure if this helps. |

My son is 15 mo. and he is 33 1/2 in. and he weighs about 26 to 27 lb. He is in the 96% with his length, or was, we go to the Dr. on Mon., so I will find out if he is still there or not. I don't know the percentile for his weight, but he was below average but still in the normal range. Why are you asking? Are you worried about something? |

When my daughter was 9 months old she was 30 inches and 20#. She was in the 95% for height and 95% for weight, but was 55% overall. My child is tall but then of course her Dad is 6ft 7in. She is not much taller or heavier now at 1 then she was then to tell you the truth. (I don't believe she is), but we do have her 1 year check up on Wednesday. |

Our son is 2 1/2 and has always been on the long and lean side. At his 2 year check-up he was 3 feet tall and 27 pounds (I think). Anyway he was in the 90th for height and the 25-50th for weight. He's been consistantly in these percentiles since birth. |

Ok thank you all for the responses, the reason I was asking is because many women on my other moms group thinks that if the child is over the 50%mark in height and weight that the child is fat. My son is almost 14months old and has always been over the 90% mark. At his 12mo check up he was 31lbs 10oz and 32in tall...He has always been a big boy but not fat at all. But he's always been on the bigger side of normal and this one woman keeps telling me that he is fat and will be fat the rest of his life because he is so big now. I know that this is NOT true because my niece was like this and so was my cousins son. Me and my hubby are not big people BUT we were both big babies. What do yall think? |

I think that one woman you speak of is a MORON! As long as he's been consistant and is active and developmentally on track for his age, he is just FINE - perfect! No worries - I know you're concerned about this because you've posted polls and questions, but you really need to enjoy your big cuddly bundle of love and ignore people who are ignorant and in your business. Talk to your pedi and I'm sure he/she will agree that your son is fine. |

I agree with Lauren...I have a 10mo old who's 27lbs and he's georgeous. His pedi told me he is fine, healthy, and nothing to worry about. So enjoy your little one. |

I conpletely agree with Lauren and Sonia too. I had thought that at 9 months my daughter appeared on the "larger" size, but like i said before she is at 55%. You can't just look at weight % you have to get the over all. Sounds like he is protionate to his heigth. Don't worry. |

I also agree. We all come in different packages; a baby is no different. My son was always long and lean also, and as someone else said, he is not a lot much bigger than he was at 12 mo. It kind of seems that was big but has kind of caught up with himself. Don't worry about what other people are telling you, just worry if your ped. says to worry. I don't think you have anything to worry about. |

well at 9months he was 30lbs and at 10months he started walking and he's only gained about 2lbs since then, so I know that he has slowed down gaining weight and is thinning out now since he started walking. I guess she just anoyed me more by telling me that he isn't normal because he's bigger and that her kid is normal cause her dr said so...well my sons dr has NEVER said anything about his weight, she's said that he is healthy and is just bigger than other kids. I mean at his 12mo check up he also had 16 teeth and I know that he's ahead of most kids and I'm very proud of it. And the only reason this rude woman commented to my sons weight was because I was defending another mother, she is 19 and has a 9month old and her cousin was telling her that she was making him fat cause she was feeding him table food and baby food and he is only 27lbs and everyone was telling her that she was feeding him too much and this woman came on there and basicly told her that she was a horrible mom cause she was feeding him too much. I guess I jsut take those types of things so personally because my son is chunky, so I try to defend those moms but this one woman just erks me. She thinks that she knows it all because she has 5 kids and she's older than some of us. |

Good for you Amers for standing up for yourself and seeing others when in need. Like I said earlier, my daughter was 20# at her 9 month check up and she also started walking then and like your son, she has hardly gained any. (Maybe I should start walking more too.....lol). And who on earth is to tell you that your son is "not normal." That is down right RUDE and I do not blame you for getting ped off at her. Unless you ped says something to you...keep up the good work over there. |

Amers, tell that 'bleeeep' to mind her own business. Mommies should stick together and support one another not point fingers and look down upon one another. Your son is beautiful and is lucky to have you as his momma :) |
