Poll: Do you let your child/children believe in...
Comments:
My husband and I had a huge debate about this while I was pregnant. He wants out son to believe in santa, easter bunny, tooth fairy, etc... I didnt, of course because I dont want him to get the wrong idea about the holidays. Also because I remember how I felt when I figured out santa was not real. I wasnt upset about it, but since then the holiday season lost its "magic" and I just want him to enjoy the season and not have it be brought because of"santa"
I think, as a 24-7 devoted and loving mommy, that it is important for a child to have something to believe in even if it is something imaginitve or creative. It brings out the creative side in the child and fun kid like side in the parent...so whats wrond with that??? ITSSSSS GREATTTT!!!:) I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! I SMILE ACTUALLY SMILE AND LAUGH AND TAKE ALOT OF MEMORY PICTURES AND HAVE REAL FUN.

We do santa but we also talk about Christmas being Jesus's birthday so they know the true meaning. I was raised knowing both and I don't remember finding out he wasn't real, I've always known he was a man named St Nick that threw money in windows and it would land in stockings drying by the fire. Christmas is my favorite time of year :-)
Our son is too young right now but we want him to have santa and the easter bunny and everything else. My family has always been big on holidays. On easter the "easter bunny" would hide our baskets and we would have to find them. The older we got the hard it was to find and still when we go visit my mom for easter I am still looking for my basket so even when he finds out its not real the joy is still there. And every time we lost a tooth we had to write the tooth fairy about how we lost it. Then she would write us back and leave us money it was something special. Every holiday has a tradition and I still love doing them.
