my daughter is 16 months old and she takes a binky but i take it away from her during the day and only let her have it when shes laying down for a nap or going to bed cuz she asks for her binky blanket and juice when shes tired but im trying to have her broke from it by the time she turns 2 because i dont want it to slow her down on talking or mess up her teeth.

My daughter never took one, never sucked her thumb and never used any teething rigs. I tried when she was an infant to give her a binky, but she was never interested in it and always spit it out.

I never used them on either of my kids because I knew it would lead to my own laziness and I didnt want to put them through that. Binkies were supposed to be used to soothe an infant because they need a certain amount of sucking--not to comfort them. Hmmm..

We stared about 1 but then we moved 3 times and everytime she would latch on and we would start over. One day she just quite asking for it around her 3rd birthday. We did have it down to nap and bedtime and it was only about 3 months after each move that we would have to take it away, after that she would just hand it to us when she go up.
